Promotional Video

South Thames Promotional Video

In this unit we will be creating a promotional video in order to reach other children, with aims of advertising the colleges capabilities to attract parents and students. To reach the client needs we’ll need to create several ideas and put them together to come up with something unique. However, we need to research about what the school does, for example; sport activities, excursion programs, etc. This will draw in the attention of students, as we all know that “all work and no play will make Jack a dull boy”. We will need to explain everything that the college does, and most importantly displaying feedback from the students and possibly even teachers that work at South Thames. As I group I want to make our promotional video as inspiring and exciting as possible that way we will be able to gain the attention of new students and more importantly show how unique we are as a college.
With the filming aspect of this promotional video project, I had plans of filming interviews with powerful and short questions which require one word answers and the reason for this is simply that when we gather up several interviews and have some of the students first reactions and answers to the questions it will bring out the liveliness of the college. I also aim to set up a small act of about 60 seconds if not less, of a student coming on his first day and how welcome the school make him feel, which eventually eases his anxiousness. My reasons for this is for teenagers to feel themselves, feel important and feel free as well as secure. I will start from the student leaving his home on his/her first day in college and it will contain mostly slow motion effects and a fast heartbeat sound and the reason for this is to go down to the students level and let them know that we understand, then they get to the college and people are welcoming them every moment in time, to make the student feel as if this is their second home.
My target audience is the students who have finished secondary school and are now moving onto college because we need to create a video where they are inspired and most importantly they like what they see, because nowadays visuals are just as important if not more than  what they hear.
