Digital Animation

Stop Motion Video - The Box

Digital Animation - The Box
For this specific animation, i used a fps (which is the short abbreiviation of frames per second)/ frame rate of 16. During the structuring of this animation, the features were all designed through Adobe Flash, including the background (Sun, sky, road and stop signs). After locking the background i then managed to create the cars that are driving by, by using smooth transitions. After making sure that each and every frame was intact, I then exported the animation into a GIF file which is based on a lossless image file format which manages to support both animated and static images. The main reason why i exported this animation file under a GIF is because it is the easiest way to loop an animation on Blogger, and looping in this case will be the most effective.

Persistence Of Vision

This is a well known theory in which case an afterimage is thought to persist for almost one sixteenth of a second on the retina of the eye, and thought to be the explanation for motion perception. Persistence of vision is commonly accepted through a sort of controversial theory which simply states that the eye of a human being retains images for a small fraction which was precisely explained as one sixteenth of a second. In film and video, this phenomena is often claimed to account for our ability to perceive a sequence of frames as a continuous moving picture.

Task 3 - Pitch

a) Pre-productions: Plan:
  • Location report / risk assessment/ shooting schedule for your promotional video.
 - For my promotional video i have a few main locations i'd like my video to be filmed in and these locations are the school smoking area where i'll be able to hold interviews peacefully with no disturbances whatsoever. However, throughout the duration of my promotional video a large percentage of time will go towards a first person point of view shot which will take place around 12:30PM Mid-day. Which will start outside the college with the aims of showing the audience which in this case are students who may want to be admitted to this college a "day in the life" of how college days are at South Thames Wandsworth. My risk assessments during my videoshoot will be no running with camera aparatus in my hands, in order to prevent accidents from taking place.

  • First draft of audio intro must be complete and uploaded onto the blog.
- My first draft to my audio intro can be found on the left of this blog.

  •  Pitch/ Present video idea to the class - Include plan - sound bites, images and interviews.

1.4 Web Animation Technology ( Solution )

Ways to create & play:

Flash - With Flash Professional, the multi
media authoring program used to create content for the Adobe Engagement Platform, such as web applications, games and movies, and content for mobile phones and other embedded devices. You are able to publish a number of animations to multiple platforms which include HTML5, WebGL as well as custom platforms. A major advantage is that you are able to reach viewers on desktop computers along with mobile users. Flash have started to expand their WebGL support by publishing fully interactive animations with scripting and audio, you can now also create your own custom brushes to get the best shape which is ideal for you, there are animation guides along with custom platform support. Adobe Flash has a number of distinct features which makes it different to other well-known authoring programs that are used presently and these are, effecient work flows, content scaling when resizing, enhanced layer controls and many more.

Adobe Edge Animate - This is another popular/well-known multimedia authoring program which is often used on computers. It is also formerly known as simply Adobe Edge, and this program is specifically a development tool which is made by Adobe Systems which uses HTML5 and Javascript. The first application in the suite was released in August 2011 which was designed to succeed the Flash platform. In September 2012, Adobe renamed the application Edge Animate.

Amara - easy-to-use flash software saves your creations in the popular SWF file format, which can be used in any website, no special HTML knowledge is needed to create animations
Adobe Director - This is another multimedia authoring tool developed by Adobe.

Flash Player - This is a freeware (Software with no shown/hidden costs), which is used for viewing multimedia which could be animations made by authoring tools. It can also play a huge part in streaming video and audio content created on the Adobe Flash platform. Flash Player has a wide user base and is a common format for games, animations and GUI (Graphical User Interface) embedded into web pages.

Quicktime - This is another freeware which is free to install online including the plug-ins.
